This panel will debate educational institutions in different countries, such as broad-based apprenticeship type systems, systems which a strong focus on academic skills, and systems that have varying degrees of flexibility along the various stages of educational formation. It will inquire how educational institutions are linked to the structure of industry and international competitiveness. It will discuss the importance of educational institutions for competitive advantage among industrialized economies.
